Is UVC radiation dangerous?

Yes. UVC light is dangerous to living beings, as it causes skin cancer, glaucoma, tissue damage, so it is necessary to handle UVC radiation with care.

Our devices have all the necessary protective measures to prevent accidental irradiation:

  • “child lock” protection,
  • microswitches and sound signals,
  • presence sensors,
  • physical protection.

The power of UVC radiation decreases with the square of the distance from the source, so that the possibility of causing damage is also reduced, which means that e.g. a portable lamp that disinfects the room can be observed for a few seconds at a longer distance (eg 5 m), and the dose of UVC radiation obtained will be still negligible.
